Deeptapioca accepts submissions year round from the general community. Every submission is given equal opportunity for consideration for publication. Deeptapioca does not condone censorship, however, submissions based solely on shock value will not be accepted.

All literary submissions should be sent in FINAL FORM, completely edited. We will not be able to distinguish poorly proofed pieces as we expect all submissions to come in final form. Any grammatical or spelling errors will be considered to be intentional by the writer, and we will print the pieces exactly as we receive them. If we consider certain errors to be blatantly unintentional, we will omit your work from the publication until we are able to contact you for approval. We are also willing to roll-over larger works into several issues.

If submitter does not have access to the internet, he or she must send the submission (via snail mail) on DISK (Mac compatible). Although we highly encourage electronic submissions, we will consider hard copy submissions sent to us via snail mail.

Most artwork will be printed in black and white, unless the artwork is to be published on our website. There is only a limited amount of colored art that can be displayed each month in our print publication. If we consider you for these spaces in particular, scale changes may be necessary in order to fit your piece into the zine. These changes, however, will not be made without the approval of the artist in order to maintain the creative integrity of his or her work.

All artists will be required to attach a short biography with their work, as they will be the focus of the publication’s content. If you have colored photographs, illustrations, or paintings, and do not mind being printed in black and white, we will be more than happy to convert your images into grayscale. We do not intend, however, to trivialize the integrity of your work, and will respect your wishes in regards to the reproduction of your work for publishing.
