Deeptapioca is a local art and literary publication dedicated to showcasing the work of local artists in order to encourage a strong community of innovative inspiration all over the Bay Area. Deeptapioca hopes to ignite a dialogue between artists and readers in order to assist each other in the further development of their creative endeavors. In addition, the publication will provide an extensive event calendar of local talents encompassing the entire Bay Area. Deeptapioca strives to stimulate, involve, and inform the community with the talent that lives and resides in the Bay Area.

The name Deeptapioca embodies the artistic characteristics of the beatnik generation and by using this name the publication hopes to rekindle the creative atmosphere of one of the most influential artistic movements in recent history

Deeptapioca provides a channel of communication available to artists of all kinds and acts as a catalyst for discussion among the Bay Area’s artistic population. Artists are able to exchange their ideas and offer inspiration to one another with Deeptapioca acting as the primary communication medium. The monthly periodical allows local artists to publish their work, bringing it to the forefront of the Bay Area’s rapidly growing creative community. In addition, Deeptapioca unites our readers with global artists in a special section of our publications as well as on our web site.
Deeptapioca primarily utilizes print media. In addition we provide an informative and entertaining web presence to support our publication. This publication will report and review the talented individuals and current events throughout the Bay Area.

Deeptapioca’s central concern is to bring artistic communities into the spotlight in hopes of offering inspiration to our audience. Our intention is to inform these communities of current events and issues relating to their lives. It is not our intention to offend any of our readers, however, the possibility lingers in that we are a liberal and independent publication.

Originally, Deeptapioca was the name of an intimate poetry-reading club that congregated weekly. This intimate group of literary enthusiasts gradually transformed into a large community of writers and artists that met frequently to share ideas, inspiration, and comradery.

David Brissenden, Editor in Chief decided that it was time to collectively channel the excitement of numerous artists into a publication that could expose their talents to the creative world.

Deeptapioca values the importance of creativity manifested through artistic expression. We view art as inspiration and are committed to promoting and showcasing the many different forms of art found throughout the Bay Area. We strive to give closet artists and studio artists the recognition they deserve by publishing their hard work.
